Family Friendly: Child-care assistance can still pass Senate

"One of the few bright spots in the Indiana General Assembly’s current session was House Bill 1616, which changed child-care voucher rules to ensure parents working low-income jobs don’t suddenly become ineligible if they earn a pay raise.
"The bill was approved unanimously by the House in February and seemed likely to sail through the Senate.
"No such luck. It appears that Sen. Luke Kenley won’t hear the bill in the Senate Appropriations Committee because he believes it will increase the waiting list for subsidies. ... "
